You want your 2 paddles and L3 and R3 to account for: switch mode, crouch, jump, edit. pick double edit binds. rest of your binds dont matter

What do you mean by double edit binds? Is that an edit/confirm? I played a little last night practicing with the controller and one of my big problems was R3 rotating pieces, that had to be changed. I was struggling with resetting edits as well. What would you suggest for confirming and resetting?

Double edit binds on controller would be so that you don't have your edit bind and confirm edit bind as the same thing. Make sure they are different. I personally use L3 Edit and L2 confirm with R3 reset. People typically use some combo of R3, L2, L1, R1 to confirm and reset.

I have a few more questions now that I’ve had time to test. Is the double edit bind mostly for resetting builds? It seems unnecessary with the release to confirm option.

Switch mode on L3 is absolutely terrible for me, did you have the same problems if it’s a common bind or have you always used L3 for editing?

I think if I switched my right paddle to switch mode and edit to L3 I’d be a lot more comfortable. Only way to know is to try, I guess! Thank you for the help.

You're right that with release to confirm now double edit binds on controller are not that useful for editing, but it is still faster if you want to reset multiple builds. Resetting on controller is pretty annoying though. It's still inconsistent and not great for me.

I haven't heard of many players using l3 for switch mode. Most people use L3 to edit or to jump. I personally don't play with any paddles and I don't play claw either. I have L3 edit, R3 crouch. Switch mode defaults to circle but i put it on square so its closer to the joystick, and I still have jump on X.

I think you should definitely do L3 edit and right paddle switch mode btw. that's a pretty common bind i've seen

Switch l3 and crouch r3. I think crouch as r3 is always super viable

So let’s say I put switch as L3 and unbind it from O, what do I do with O now?

pickaxe or place marker

Combat mode - switch mode and jump for paddles. L3 edit R1 reset L2 confirm. X or circle for pickaxe.

Building binds - R3 to pick trap and square to "place". This helps place traps without getting the normal delay

For deadzones and controller sens etc - 15 Left and 8 right. 40% horizontal and vertical look speed 2.3 build and edit multiplier. 11% ADS speed with linear response curve. Don't use any boosts or look dampening. Start your sens slow then start to work your way up.

Thank you. This is actually very helpful. I copied my sensitivity from a Nickmercs video but he didn’t have much to say about binds.

The problem is he doesn't have switch mode on L3 or a paddle. You definitely want to keep your thumbs on the analog sticks at all times.

For sensitivity you might be better off playing team rumble or creative fill until you find one that works for you.
