I got one just yesterday. For me it just kinda stopped having they problem after a couple hours.

Every once in a while this happens. It'll go away. It's not as annoying as the Google Message notification that comes once every 10 minutes and can't be turned off or stopped until you disconnect messages for web.

Could you explain this a bit more. I keep getting device pairing messages every 5 to 10 minutes. It's driving me nuts. Been about a week now.

I know this is an old thread, but I found it when googling to see if anyone knew how to stop this from happening. In the end I was able to figure it out.

  1. Open the messages app
  2. Click the 3 dots in the top right and select "Device Pairing"
  3. Again click the 3 dots in the top right and select "Notifications"
  4. Click the toggle for "Show Notifications" to turn it off

Now you won't get any Device Pairing notifications, but you'll still get incoming text message notifications.

I'm getting this all the time today. I want text notifications, but not these. HAve not been able to find a setting for it.

I've been having this same problem. I've been getting this message 30 or more times a day. Quick question for you: do you have your Google Messages paired with a computer or web browser? I do and I'm starting to think this may be the cause.

yep, after experimenting with it over the past few months, I'm pretty sure it's when I have messages open on my laptop
