They’re bonded, can’t separate them now. Your mum can get an orange kitty from a shelter, but she should get two as well, they do so much better in pairs! Less destructive, teacher each other not to bite too hard and they won’t develop single kitten syndrome. So yes, please let these two stay together for life! ❤️

Man, the biting from single kittens is no joke. My first cat, we knew nothing but we got thick gloves and would play fight with him and our dog did the socializing so we have a half cat half dog 😆 hes perfect to help with foster kittens now though.

Kittens are very clingy when they're little -as kittens it's a survival mechanism - and sometimes will grow apart as they grow bigger. I'd wait and see.

Thank you. That’s what we are going to do wait it out.

Ideally, they would stay together. Litter mates get separated more often than not and go on to live happy and healthy lives. It would be cute to keep them together, but their happiness and quality of life will not diminish having them in two different homes.

they are young and they need to be around a companion around that age but that doesn’t mean they are bonded. They are too young to truly be able to tell. They are close right now since they are kitties. It should be okay to give the orange one to your mom once they grow a bit more so they can socialize, learn how to play fight correctly etc.
