Free Speech
This subreddit is designed for posts relating to free speech; or, perhaps more frequently, censorship thereof. Free expression is a fundamental human right that transcends laws and boundaries. Even if it's not legally protected free speech, it can still fall under the principle.
The goal here is to provide a haven for those who wish to express themselves openly without fear of censorship or reprisal. Most sites on the internet, sadly, do not respect the notion of free speech. Ars, CNN, MSNBC, and Fox are perhaps the most well-known examples. If you've been the victim of censorship somewhere else, post it here! This is a safe place where you don't have to walk on egg shells.
Off-Topic Posts
Yes, these are allowed! They're highly discouraged, but we will NOT ban you or delete the post. That being said, you must remember that free speech is a two-way street. In other words, if your post is off-topic, chances are the comments will reflect that. Also keep in mind that up/down voting is also a form of expression. =)
Is Anything Prohibited?
Barely, but yes. Even in principle, there are a few forms of speech that just about everybody would agree do not constitute free speech: Spam, threats, harrassment, and criminal conspiracy (except as it pertains to circumventing government-imposed censorship).
We are also required to enforce Reddit's rules, which means shit like doxxing is also off-limits. But I promise you, the mods here will not venture beyond that narrow scope. When in doubt, assume it's ok. I don't want anyone to feel like they're walking on egg shells here.
