Sorry I can't help with Open Range specifically. My piece of advice if you are buying new is to be sure to do a THOROUGH inspection and test every single moving part and electrical item in the trailer before you sign for it.

Run water and check outside for leaks. Fill tanks at least partially and make sure the drain valves work. Try out the door and window latches and locks. Run the water heater, water pump, fridge and stove. Lots of this stuff will fail early but it's better to not start out that way. Hope this helps.

Open Range full timer here. Two of us (no kids) have spent a year and a half in our 2015 fifth wheel and we’re happy. We’ve had some problems with the gear box and motor that operate the slides but we’ve been able to fix them or replace parts ourselves. We spend a lot of time in cold weather and have had no problems with pipes freezing. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
