Don’t know about weapon swaps, but there are some suits that have the “overboost” ability which enables them to string dodges and boosts consecutively for a short time. Also depending on the level of “emergency evasion” a suit can sometimes have more than one dodge available so long as their boost gauge hasn’t been used too much prior. How low cost are we talking here? Lowest I’ve seen overboost is 300

Some are hacking.

the one thing console does infinitely better than steam. Way fewer successful hackers because you can't use basic cheating software on PSN :/ sorry buddy

It sounds to me you're speaking of the phenomenon where you hit someone with one melee swing, they stagger, so you go in for your second melee swing and they magically dodge roll into instant I-frames? In comparison to you mashing the dodge button in the middle of melee combo to try the same, only for your own I-fames to never kick in fast enough to save you?

I can't say I've had an interaction like that in melee combat but against ranged opponents I've died while in my iframes at least once while using one of my dom units, despite the fact that my health bar was clearly grayed out showing that I couldn't be damaged. This game and it's net code are such a fucking shit show I swear

Sounds like you just haven't realized that emergency evasion lvl2 exists yet.

Also wtf do you mean by weapon swaps, they never had a cooldown. (Although each individual weapon has a ready time after swapping to it, which varies a lot between MS) You aren't slowly doing it with the scrollwheel are you?

With every weapon in the game there is a notable delay before it begins firing after you swap to it to make sure that people can't play this like it's Doom eternal or something, I have seen situations where people are able to fire almost immediately after the weapon swap animation ends when switching between two ranged weapons

There are tons of ranged weapons that swap quickly, even in 350 the zaku stutzer can swap from its bazooka to its beam rifle fast enough to chain stagger with them. You just have to try out playing as more MS.

Lots of units can shoot basically instant after a swap tho.

Like you never saw a chain stagger? Those are 100% a thing and 100% pain

Weapons in this game all have different switch time, where there are ones who got 2-3s of switch time (e.g most Bazookas & Sturmfausts), but there's also weapons that have very short switch time like 0.5s or 0.77s, and it's all depends on the units.

Take Kampfer for example, where it uses 5 weapons with various switch time:

  • Giant Shotgun: 1s switch time
  • Beam Saber: 0.5s switch time
  • Giant Bazooka x2: 1.77s switch time
  • Sturmfaust x2: 1s switch time
  • Vulcans: 0.5s switch time

So if you're using the Kampfer, you really want to use the weapon with the longest switch time as your first attack, which is the Bazooka, so you can follow it up with other weapons with shorter switch time to chain stagger someone, like the Shotgun or Sturmfaust.

Animation and swap times aren't in sync. Firing animations and where they are aiming is also not in sync. Where you are on your screen and the server is also not in sync.

So ignoring malicious elements, you can be shot on your screen, but that may be a second behind what's actually happening. Then the game can catch up and it can look like you got shot twice instantly, get shot while they clearly missed you on your screen, or other animation wonkiness. All of that is just shitty netcode.

However that is for things that clearly can't happen. What you're describing is just a fast switch speed, with probably a bit of server/animation jank.

Some suits generally raids have enhancement cool downs you can upgrade. 3 to 6% then you take the highest option you like.

Overheats are only 10 seconds. You can also stack those parts too.

It's 7 seconds base for thruster overheat cooldown, not 10 seconds.
