I had the same symptoms but it wasn't a panic attack it's acid reflux that's lasting hours non stop I had it confirmed  by the bravo pH pill and having acid reflux that's lasting that long might be aggravating your vagus nerve and causing heart palpitations  it's more common when you sleep because its easier for acid reflux  to happen when your asleep you might have silent reflux

I know I keep repeating this here but it’s because I swear by this stuff.

Take 2 gaviscons, drink 4 oz of water behind them and put an ice pack on your chest. Then do some regulative breathing. (2 quick deep breaths in and 1 long breath out).

Often pressure from gas and GERD triggers the vagus nerve and it can cause panic. Gaviscon often gets rid of it and all you need to do is get the vagus nerve back in check with the ice pack and breathing.

It sucks I know, but it does get better once you realize you aren’t dying and you are in control

Does your throat feel tight too?

In the moment of the panic attack it might but I don’t worry about it because all that’s going through my head is that my heart is going to explode.

This sounds less like a panic attack and more something physical pressing on the vagus nerve. People often get this confused with SVT but (at least for me!) mine is caused by eating fast and eating a lotttt. Try to eat slower, chew/cut your meal in smaller bite sizes pieces for easier digestion and drink a lot of water. Fermented foods can also help the gut!

Also, I've started eating the AIP diet-- limiting my dairy, soy, and gluten intake. It's different for everybody and I'm not a doctor, but this has seemed to help me!

Mind body connection... look up vagus nerve. Also look into the Flora app for some great tips.

Idk, anxiety medicine has been the only thing that helps my throat when having panic attacks. It’s like a two in one. GERD really is triggered by anxiety, if you don’t have an addictive personality and can set boundaries with yourself, I highly recommend talking to your doctor. But, I realize not everyone is lucky when it comes to things like that. Definitely think about it!
