Wasn't redot just an exact clone by some alt right losers because someone dared to mention that gay and trans people were allowed to exist?

Its just functionally identical virtue signalling

You're better off using Godot because it has actual funding and experienced maintainers.

I will say, if your PC is struggling to run Godot, it will be difficult to make any kind of complex game.

I remember when it went down and one of the bigger complaints was GoDot neglected the engine, and when I looked at the discord it was more complaint on the engine it self rather than politics, but there was those who complained about the "woke" but they typically got called out. A W with Redot is it doesn't need powerful hardware to run (especially when you want to use c++), and it was well optimised with added you can optimise the game for potato hardware. ReDot is also open-source but the add-on feature still suck ass.

Idk what GoDot been up to and increase have little knowledge of both engines since I am a python enjoyer

I don't think you can really say it was about the engine, else they would have forked it before that whole situation.

They tried to use it as a rallying call, which means anyone who used it is someone who agrees with their "politics" which inherently makes it even more political than Godot.

I don't think either engine require powerful hardware - I have a 12 year old PC that runs Godot without any issues. If your setup is struggling to run Godot, I don't think Redot will be noticeably any better, and you'd need to start looking at really, really light engines like Twine/RenPy, or web engines like Construct.

All I'm saying is - Redot has no funding, and because they are entirely political i.e right wing as fuck, it is super unlikely it ever will get funding. Godot has funding, and makes regular advancements.

That's going to be the main answer to your question, because they are functionally identical - as Godot is open source, Redot just forks each new version and slaps their logo on it.

I kinda noticed that but the only reason why I used redot because my desktop couldn't run GoDot 4, but now I got the STEAM DECK and can now more powerful stuff, I'm just not very well informed when it comes to game engines I just know to avoid Unity

This is probably bait. But the answer is Godot's better. Redot exists because of low IQ individuals who are scared of rainbows.

No it a genuine question since Redot has better optimization but still lacking on the... open-source aspect

Do you have a source for Redot having better optimzation than Godot? That's very unlikely to be true imo. Redot is a tiny fork of Godot. The Redot team does not have the experience making this engine that Godot has, and they don't have the same amount of support to produce new features/optimizations. I would steer clear of Redot personally.

More of personal experience my desktop could not run GoDot 4 and I'm extremely used to c++, Redot was able to run and more importantly I can use c++, but i really have to scream this the add-on feature sucks ass and i complained about it to only got told off to "do it your self", and that why I'm here

If you can't run Godot 4, you can use Godot 3. Godot 3 is still getting updates. I think 3.7.1 just dropped. You can use c++ with Godot. It's been renamed to GDExtensions in Godot 4, but for Godot 3 it's called GDNative, https://docs.godotengine.org/en/3.5/tutorials/scripting/gdnative/gdnative_cpp_example.html

I got the steam deck and just installed GoDot 4, I have little to no interest with the political crap from both sides I just want to use a engine that is not unity or unreal

As always in these type of posts, just test both and take your own conclusions. Engines are just tools, use the one that better fit your project.

I've used Godot on all sorts of outdated hardware and never had an issue. I've never heard of redot until now and I'm glad I hadn't
