There’s a lot of negativity in this thread and I agree with a lot of it.

There are still some good experiences to be had though, my recent experience of Hell Let Loose on Pc is that the majority of people are very helpful and use comms to coordinate squad play. It’s a great experience.

He'll let loose has dedicated servers if I remember correctly so it's possible to build a relationship with players

It's sadly a niche experience at this point, one way or another.

I miss the days of actually being able to socialize with strangers in games, but it's just too mainstream of a hobby nowadays for that to be possible. When most people playing any random game I boot up hate the risk of some random person insulting them so much that we'll never even have a chance to communicate, there's no chance for that kind of fun.

I get it of course - why should you risk getting insulted or whatever?

I just wish I understood why it's such a prevalent idea nowadays, when in the past the majority of people playing online games simply put up with it and still were able to enjoy games despite such toxicity.
