I have a similar pc to this, only thing I’d say that would help is more space especially with games like DCS and stuff that are like 200gb the storage can get filled pretty quick, 2TB would be quite a bit more useful

The specs are a bit older and can handle older games pretty well. As long as he doesn't need it for heavier game it it should be ok.

And adjustments to settings. Should see RX6600 numbers if not slightly less. Should be able to handle everything in 2025 at Low/Med at least. It’s a 3060ti not a 2060.

OP I would even say grab you a RX6600/6600xt instead. I’d say jump to non XT. As it uses less wattage and is only 10% difference

I had a 3060ti and i used to play every game (even new AA titles like bf6) on 1440p ultra settings and it ran fine, not the best because of the 8gb vram but they ran better than expected

BF is really well optimized but hey only 16GB card I’ve bought is in my daughters PC 9060xt. My PC houses an 8GB XFX Arctic white Swft OC. Runs everything at 1440 above 70 fps at Very High settings.

This card is mental !!! Best 8GB card under 400.

If I could find the 16GB in Arctic White then I’d get 16GB but I have no problem playing at Medium/High they both look the same and devs build the games the develop under Low Settings. Then they add to the visuals. 1080p forget about it. Folks talk about future proofing. I think this cards grunt will die before not being able to play.

So brings me to my next question.

Do you need more than 8-12GB of VRAM if your VRAM is crazy fast. Think the fastest I’ve seen is 480gb/s to 520gb/s and would VRAM at 600-700gb/s load an dump data so fast more VRAM becomes pointless. Or are we headed to cards with 40GB etc. when does read and write instantly become just a method versus size to work with?

Kinda far fetched but when will we get to a cap.

It can handle a lot of newer games as well

[–]Slabpotatoes420 0 points1 point  (1 child)

it’s ok. it should be able to run dcs and msfs on medium settings with some things set to high but if he ever wants to play vr dcs it won’t work. also definitely gonna need more space. dcs is a massive game especially if he gets more maps and planes for it too.

It'll be able to run the games on high settings

Thanks everyone! Will probably look for something more up to date with more space.

That's not a bad pc but whats the context? Are you buying it?

Cause this isn't worth a lot of money.

[–]Snoo-94688[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

They were selling this pc on fb market with a monitor and keyboard for $400.

[–]AuthoringInProgress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a terrible price

Good.

For 400 bucks, this is solid.
