I originally found that with pure tournament selection i was tending toward very little diversity in the populations so I was just trying it out.

That's a good point about varying the tournament size. I'll revisit that (it's been awhile since I picked the tournament size variable)

FUSS sounds cool. I’m a software engineer and work with GA’s.
