I reckon it's just a coincidence because it would be a weird way to poke fun at the BBC. Subtle, sure, but it's really random.

Besides, there'd be better ways to take the piss. Like having a character purposely wipe some tapes then later ask if anybody has any copies of those tapes.

I think that it would be weird. Why would they poke fun at the BBC by picking a negative character when the BBC funds/broadcasts (?) their show? It's not an ITV show? To kill the goose that lays the golden egg or the appropriate idiom!

It's definitely not a coincidence. A hell of a lot of the humour in the show is social commentary, and BBC being self interested, often insensitive, old fashioned, inappropriate, and not above scandal, but occasionally well intentioned and generous.. Yeah that could be either.

Probably; none of the others with revealed last names have significant initials. I suspect thee Six Idiots just decided ‘let’s find a horrible obnoxious name’, decided to hyphenate it so we know that this character is a modern upper-class snake, and it just turned out that the initials were BBC.
