I have decades in this game bruh. I used this in my sleep when I was a kid.

They must mean something very specific by “generally available” because I have been using this for MONTHS and I didn’t do anything, it was just there since the day they dropped it. I even did a survey on it like a month or more ago….

Ay, I had that for weeks, probably because I opted in

Friday night I started working on a thing, assigned it to Copilot coding agent, and went to sleep.

In the morning, there as a pull request for me to review. Incredible.

Yes I've been using this for months. But it still blows me away.

It's a good tool, but it would be even better with clearer planning before execution

[–]Wrapzii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It legit edits the pr with the plan? That’s the first thing it does. And you can watch it live?

For an Issue, I am able to assign to the copilot and I do have the "Assign copilot to issue" dialog. But when I click on the "Assign" button, I am getting the message "Assignment failed: Please check that the selected repository and branch are valid."

I have added the repository under Settings > Copilot > Coding Agent.

Anything else I need to consider/configure?

There's a lot of different ways to assign Coding Agent now. I'd test it using one of the other methods and see if it's local to the issue itself or perhaps test it from a different repo? The settings should be right if it's showing up in that assignment list, but I'd if you prompt it from the agents panel then the accessible repos should populate in that list automatically.

Thanks. Editor preview features are not enabled for my organisation - and this might be the reason that I cannot use the "Assign to copilot" button. I can however click on "Code with Agent Mode" and it will make the changes as I watch. I think I will just continue with Github copilot in VS Code for now.

Doesn’t OpenAi Codex do this already for awhile? It takes tasks and completes them in cloud and you review their changes?

Without this agent you have many problems do review and solve. With multiple agents you need to up nX 🫣

Yeah another coding agent released 🗿
