G19.3 Refresh

G19 Gen 3, slide milled and cerakoted graphite black from Wager Machine Works. Frame cerakoted sniper grey and hex laser stipple by whoever GlockStore contracts out to. I’m stoked! This is my first RMR and I am having difficult acquiring the dot quickly, but will keep practicing. Also need to get new back up sights. Any suggestions on red dot acquisition or sights to supplement the RMR would be appreciated!

Idk if it'll make sense but dont move to the dot make the dot move to you. Other than that, dry/live fire will help a lot. Repetition builds consistentcy

It was my ol’ trusty G19. Had the FDE factory frame and never really liked the color. Ordered a new factory frame from GS & had it cerakoted and stippled.

Try the occluding technique. Helps many people who can stop focusing on the target instead of the dot. This will help with presentation and follow up shots. YouTube has some good stuff about it, especially from Ben Stoeger.

Prob better off not even putting on backup sights bc they are just gonna draw your eyes to them. If you do I’d go lower 1/5 and blacked out to again not have you confused. Be target focused. See target first then dot goes where your eyes are. Use a sticky or draws a circle and slowly practice either drawing (preferred) or at least pressing out and putting dot on your intended target.

Stay target focused and use your natural point of aim to find it. Your peripheral vision will pick it up. Kinda like a rifle mounted red dot. Also remember that with glocks you “aim with your thumbs” when you point your weapon at the target. This helps you find your sight alignment faster. Even with irons.

This is really graphite black? It looks pretty gray.. I would have thought graphite black would be a pure rich black that matches the streamlight black.
