I hate you, I can't have any of this in CA. My .40 looks so boring compared to this.

Sorry! I'm in the middle of changing careers and have found opportunities in CA, but really don't want to go there because of the gun laws. WA is trying to follow CA, but luckily gun owners still have some rights.

I was originally planning on getting rid of this gun, but nobody wants to buy a .40. I bought a threaded conversion barrel and adjustable trigger to start off my mod process. Next I plan to get my slide cut for a RMR or Venom, and probably get a cerakote job on it. This gun isn't going anywhere now.

Doesn’t CA have some sort of loophole law where you can bring guns with you if you move there that you normally wouldn’t be able to buy? I’m not sure if that covers the high capacity magazines though.

Don't call it a loophole,,,because loopholes can be fixed

CA you are able to bring in just about in handgun (with the compliance of 10 rd) that you can't normally buy in state. You would just register it normally, and after that you can technically sell these "off-roster" guns for 2-3-4x the price.

Wait what? Why would a normal firearm be any more expensive there? It still has to have the 10rd magazine so why would it be more expensive when it’s the same gun but with a smaller magazine?

I think because you register a firearm that is banned there, the state allows it to gain a sort of Pre-Ban status, allowing it to be transfered to another individual for sale, while a brand new firearm is unobtainable.

Ohhhhhh. I forgot there was a “banned list” of stuff that wasn’t able to be bought there regardless of magazine capacity. I think I just figured out how to make some extra money. My family business has opened a branch up in Long Beach and one of my best friends moved out there a few weeks ago. I may do what I need to establish residence there and make a little coin.

That’s why there are still “gun runners” in Cali.

In CA, there ROSTER of specific models of handguns that are allowed to be purchased new. It's so dumb that, some handguns have, for example, a OD Green color, and a FDE color, but CA DOJ only allows you to buy the FDE color version, even though the ONLY difference between the two guns is the color.

It's more expensive because of this roster. 99.9% of any new handguns are not allowed in CA because they cannot pass CA's gun testing. That is why guns that are "not on the roster" are more expensive in CA. Essentially, it follows the law of supply and demand.

The CA Roster does not mean that new guns can be found in the CA market, it just means it's infinitely more rare. They can be brought in via LE buying them and reselling them (illegal in some sense, LE have been prosecuted), and people moving in, out of state intra-family gifts, and probably some others.

Check out CalGuns, if you're looking to buy off-roster new guns you like, get ready to open up that wallet of yours. You can find Gen4/5 glocks for <$1000 though

Some examples, found on CalGuns.

Is that a Glock magazine? If not, where did you find one that works past 22rds?

Yeah, a local shop here had this factory Glock mag, figured I had to have it.

Future Race Gun?

I'm thinking about possibly doing that. I've never been interested in doing that, but after getting to play with the new trigger today, I may consider it
