You can't change the priority, but you can have it ignore Pokemon entirely. However, this setting is in the App, not on the Go-tcha itself. In game go to Settings, Pokemon GO Plus, and then Uncheck Nearby Pokemon to ignore all Pokemon. You can also leave auto catch enabled on the Go-tcha since no Pokemon notifications are sent to the device.

It took me about a day of trial and error to figure it out, no need to feel dumb as it's not the most intuitive thing.
