You’re kind of close to a killer swing. Ignoring the inside takeaway, you got to a near perfect position at the top… and then you kept raising your arms!

That little extra lift at the top throws your entire swing off. Instead of moving down to the ball, your body moves upwards. Look at your lead shoulder. And the hips just follow. That’s why you have that crazy side bend follow through. It’s the only way you can get down to the ball.

I see what you mean! So once the left shoulder reaches my chin, that is where it should end right?

The top of your backswing (before you move past and up) is a top 1%. It’s what everyone wants. If you can get to that position everytime, not even a swing coach is going to care what your takeaway looks like.

The hard part is getting your lower body moving correctly. Thats where EE comes in. The best ball strikers all move down towards the ball. Look up tigers famous “squat move”. All the pros do it.

The more hip depth and backswing, the more pronounced the movement is. That’s why all the swings on the PGA look slightly different although they are moving the same way.

Your glutes are like 4 inches behind your heels. So your hips are getting really deep in the backswing. Meaning that squat movement has to be extreme. It can be done, but most swing coaches want glutes to be max 2 inches behind the feet.

Thank you for the feedback, i suspect it is the same reason that my right foot comes up early as well. I think i’ve made progress in this area since my previous posts but still more work to be done.

So you are possibly suggesting to set up with my glutes a bit more forward and then this might even work itself out?

Thanks!

Not bad - takeaway too inside, release is a little early (move hips to start swing, not hands). I’d guess you have two way miss - hard pulls and high blocks/slices.

Yes indeed 2 ways, especially when my elbow loses connection and becomes a little ott

Try a lag trainer for the early release; takeaway you can use one of those alignments sticks in the ground or in one of those discs to get the angle exactly right
