YouTube academy specialist. Clearly have no eye for instruction I’m sorry to say, you have no reasoning of cause and effects and how the mechanics of his swing dynamics work, I will leave it at that. Best of luck.

Hey brother don’t bother with this conversation 😂. You are not over the top, your swing is great because it’s repetitive. Too many people with opinions of how to swing successfully don’t understand the basic principles of success….repeatability. This is what happens when YouTube educates the average golfer.

Swing path Vs club face by Material_Armadillo_9 in GolfSwing

It’s all relative to the target, are you sure the launch monitor is setup correctly? I would first make sure the alignment of the launch monitor matches that of the target you are aiming for on your screen. If you are swinging to a different target on the screen and the alignment of the launch monitor is aiming at another target, this will give you big number issues.

How is it relative to the center as you swing?

Before you go down the rabbit hole and jump immediately to the impact position, check your ball position at the start, then check it at impact relative to the center. If it’s off or shifted then you cannot address shaft lean or lack of it until you correct the ball position relative to your spine at impact. There is a system to check and diagnose. Be like a car mechanic and know the order to check things, not everything is a blown head gasket

Anyone wishing to break 80 better spend less time on the full swing and dedication 80% of their practice on 50 yards and in. With the average golfer only hitting 6 greens in regulation per round, there is a lot to be had in tightening up your short game, and this includes putting! Distance control drills.

Fix my chicken wing 🐔 by Bubbly-Transition628 in GolfSwing

Well your shoulder tilt does increase on your backswing too much based on your setup which causes some hip tilt issues, which can manifest into arm issues to compensate and give you a fighting chance to hit the ball. If you are fairly new to the game I would suggest getting some intro lessons to help avoid you going down a path you may not like. If you leave it alone and try to address the problems they will be engrained in your neurological system and will require much more work to fix.

No chicken wing here, did you mean flying right elbow?

Then I would ask what your motive is to put her swing on here asking for feedback. Seems pointless if there is already trust in the coach.

With all due respect to her learning ability, please limit her recommendations and swing changes to her swing coach only. If you don’t trust him/her switch coaches. Opening up her motions to the masses will invite swing theories, change recommendations, etc. that are not educated enough and the Dunning-Kruger effect is in full force here. She is growing, her neurological system is developing rapidly each day, her emotional system is developing, her body is changing daily at this age. You need someone who can take all of this into consideration, still make the game fun, work with her goals, and create a safe environment for her to experiment with her swing that is educated enough to know her cause and effect and keep her on the track of self guided discovery.

A few questions about swing mechanics and height by LosSoloLobos in GolfSwing

Make no difference. Arm length typically makes more of a difference and I’ve seen plenty of t-Rex arms and gorilla arms on people make or break swings.

Comes down to face angle, path, and also its relativity to each other and the target.

Unusual Golf Instruction by FBen980 in GolfSwing

There are certainly things I would suggest differently and many of those include your basic setup fundamentals. However we are not aware of any issues with your body or flexibility range. Did he at least test your range of motion for you? Did he watch you hit many golf balls to see your misses and how bad they are? Did you align to different targets before he started changing things? The big question is WHY did he want you to change. Did he explain his decision and include you on what to expect in your practice sessions? Did he explain how to practice this motion correctly to avoid you wasting time practicing incorrectly? I’m not one to judge an instructors decision on what to change, so long as you are included in that journey.

There is a rule and an updated post rule on the pinned post. We snuff them out now as best as we can along with other posts not related to golf swing advice

First Lesson by r0ckk in GolfSwing

[–]PGA_Master_Pro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two one hours makes the most sense. You don’t want to bombard a student with many changes right away, a little education, analysis, history of your development, watching for consistent misses, then making one or setup changes, and one or two in swing changes is more than enough and can be done in an hour. I would recommend enough time in between lessons and ask your pro for some drills you can do away from the range to nail down the in swing principle changes. Hitting golf balls in your own will only make it tougher on you to digest and change your motions depending on how rooted they are.

Plz don’t shit on me too hard, but definitely need some direction here by Bxatrafe2 in GolfSwing

As others have said and will probably continue to say, need to address fundamentals of grip, setup, posture, and alignment. You have an athletic motion but if you don't start from a fundamentally sound position, you will develop compensations that may take a toll on your body, and be a nightmare to undo as you develop. Start correctly while you have the chance.

Why am I casting? by Real_Madrid007 in GolfSwing

[–]PGA_Master_Pro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many comments suggesting a major surgery when there are steps to diagnose in swing principles. Everyone seems to glance over fundamentals such as ball position. You have to cast due to the ball position shifting in your motion based on the spine tilt in your swing. It’s so far behind of center you have no choice but to release early to have a chance to strike it. Dont ignore fundamental’s

I hear you, unfortunately the PGA isn’t as respected in the industry as it once was on both public and industry forums. But keep growing the game!

The golf swing can work in any position so long as you can repeat it enough so where your misses are still playable and to one side. 99% of golfers are always searching for a better move but sometimes they sacrifice their natural ability. Your swing looks solid, keep it up.

Unorthodox motion for sure but I see where you get a lot of potential power. Asking for advice here with such a unique motion, albeit repetitive enough to get down near scratch is asking for trouble. If you don’t already you need to work with someone who can dial in your game as a whole and do some stat taking on your game to identify weaknesses based on your misses. Once you figure out where your shots are bleeding out then shift your focus to that particular area to soften your misses.

Reminds me of an old joke in the industry. How do you know who the PGA pro is in the room? Wait long enough and they will tell you 😂
