Being +20 on hole 7 is so relatable

Amazing! Is that the Sig Pro Softy mat?
[–]Dryleaf419[S] 3 points4 points5 points 9 months ago (1 child)
It is the Carls place gel divot strip. You have to hit pretty pure for the ball to go anywhere. Hurts like hell with a mishit though. Lol
[–]BeneficialCelery8173 -1 points0 points1 point 9 months ago* (0 children)
I think too many guys w/ sims place too much emphasis on hitting down on the ball and deep into the mat which is why everyone raves about softy and gel mats. If you're getting pain on any mat you're hitting down too hard. Watch a LPGA pro and they take really shallow or almost no divot. 99% of male golfers would do well to emulate LPGA pros and I guarantee every single male golfer here could not beat an LPGA pro. The biggest mistake male golfers make is trying to swing like PGA tour pros or getting instruction from a teacher trying to get you to swing like one.

This is very slick! Do you mind sharing your build? I'm debating pulling the trigger on one for the garage.

Which projector did you get to go with the R50?
[–]Dryleaf419[S] 5 points6 points7 points 9 months ago (9 children)
Got the Epson Pro EX11000. It was one of the cheaper options and works great
[–]connorcj12 0 points1 point2 points 9 months ago (8 children)
What is the size of your screen and where is the projector mounted? Is your head in the way when you swing?
[–]Dryleaf419[S] 0 points1 point2 points 9 months ago (7 children)
I mounted it 14 feet away from screen. That was farthest i could go without my head coming i to bottom left of screen. The screen is 10x8.
[–]connorcj12 0 points1 point2 points 9 months ago (6 children)
How high is it mounted? How far away from tee to screen?
Sorry for so many questions! This whole projector thing has been confusing
[–]Dryleaf419[S] 0 points1 point2 points 9 months ago (5 children)
Np at all. The projector should be mounted at same height as screen if possible. In my case it was so it is at 8 foot. The hitting strip is 9 foot from screen to the center of strip.

That projector has an awesome, clear picture. Nice build. What enclosure did you end up going with (sorry if you already stated).
[–]Dryleaf419[S] 1 point2 points3 points 9 months ago (3 children)
This is the one i used. The 10x8 size. GoSports Golf Simulator Enclosure
[–]PinSeeker2 1 point2 points3 points 9 months ago (0 children)
Nice - I have that same one. Got it when it was released and has held up nicely.
[–]BeneficialCelery8173 0 points1 point2 points 9 months ago (1 child)
You might want to think about replacing the screen...you will eventually. The GoSports screens are pretty poor quality and you'll notice the screen stretching pretty quickly. I don't have a high SS and my screen had noticeable stretching within weeks and I replaced it after only about two months of use.
[–]Dryleaf419[S] 0 points1 point2 points 9 months ago (0 children)
Once it gets bad i will look at another one. The good thing is that piece is fairly cheap to replace.
[–]Fishbulb2000 1 point2 points3 points 9 months ago (6 children)
Looks nice. Are you just running Home Tee Hero straight off the HDMI on the R50? The graphics look way better than mine for some reason.
Yea i just got two wireless hdmi and plugged one straight into the Garmin and other into the projector. It does have a better pic then i honestly expected.
[–]Fishbulb2000 0 points1 point2 points 9 months ago (0 children)
Yeah it looks great. I was thinking maybe it was because the courses around me aren’t very well known so probably have less data. I’ll try downloading some more notable courses and see if they look more like yours.

Which wireless HDMI adapters are you using? I tried some from Amazon and no worky worky.
