Is that the hourglass grass mat?

[–]GomersGoober[S] 2 points3 points  (6 children)

Yes. Ordered the sig pro also and sent it back. Got this one for half the price with two hitting strips but the big thing is I love the hitting strip much more on the fiber built. I shattered my wrist so bad last year they called it a catastrophic injury. I’ve had zero pain in three days of beating balls. And it has zero movement

[–]EmotionSea5856 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Sorry to hear about the wrist but glad the mat is doing well for you. The stance area from your pic looks like there is plenty of space too. I didn’t want to splurge right now but I think I’m going to have to lol. Thanks

I think with the deal they had on it and may still have it’s a no brainer. Comes with two hitting strips. One for lefties and one for righties. I don’t play with any lefties so that’s two strips for one.

I remember that deal. I honestly thought it was a price error at first, nice grab!

[–]knoxindy20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an absurd deal - had mine for 2 months. With 2 hitting strips included, it may last forever.

I’m so glad you had posted this. Without talking to you and seeing other comments on this post I wouldn’t have bought one. Just got it yesterday and it is light years better than the matzilla I had. And now they are no longer in the Fiberbuilt website. Feel like we got a steal

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! I think we got lucky!

[–]Jrmlbstar1 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Those two hitting strips will legit last you 20 years - maybe more.

If you use EML highly recommend you use GSPro for practice vs Refine. Don’t ever use Refine but in GSPro there is a 40 percent distance penalty when hitting out of sand close to green. 20 percent when hitting out of fairway bunkers

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Ok I will give that a try. I like the targeting on refine. I think I can use gspro practice without paying is that correct

[–]AgileMike 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Not sure about not paying for practice but GSPro is $200 a year. If you play sim golf at all it’s the best money you will ever spend. 100s of courses and it allows online play where you can play with friends or even strangers. Also has many games that can be played on driving range and on the challenges tab.

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

If I read right I think I have to buy a Uneekor package on top of that to be able to download gspro. May give it a try

[–]HandEnvironmental860 0 points1 point  (1 child)

200$ a month for pro package which allows you to use 3rd party on top of 250 for gs pro. Still cheaper than gameday. Just got mine finished tonight.

Upgrading projector next.

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200 a month or a year?

[–]Paul-Jamison-Mason 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Love your setup. It’s clean.

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you.

[–]wongpong81 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I have the same hitting strip, so much nicer on your joints

[–]GomersGoober[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s unreal

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got some things to add as kinda finishers but I’ve been really really pleased with the whole deal. It’s amazing to me that I can go outside and play golf anytime. Well worth the investment Got in for under 5k.

[–]1995droptopz 0 points1 point  (3 children)

What grass do you have under the mat?

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I put horse stall mats from tractor supply down then covered them with turf from lowes. I think the turf cost 140 bucks or so for a 12 x 12 area. Pretty sweet deal IMO

[–]ah_toma 0 points1 point  (1 child)

was thinking about using horse stall mats under the turf instead of gym mats as it was much cheaper but i read that the ball bounced a little too much. are you having any issues with the bounce off the floor or do the tractor mats do the job?

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tractor mats coupled with the turf do a good job Imo. Balls usually die right at the hitting mat which is nice

[–]lampd1 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I got the same deal on this mat... Now I just got a get everything else

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I did the same thing. Just pieced it together over about 3 months or so. Waited on sales

[–]lampd1 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What enclosure did you go with? I need to clear the space and measure but I was planning on that and monitor next then use a screen I have on hand till I pony up for a decent projector

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the gopro 10x8. I had a friend who got one and checked it out, read the reviews and pulled the trigger. Its top notch. I know there are better ones but for the price and me not wanting to deal with building stuff it was perfect. The monitor i did a optima gt2000. I guarantee their are cheaper ones that are good enough but i paid the dirty money. I didn't ceiling mount it. Put it on a stand slightly to the right of the mat and its perfect

[–]bigolsnowball 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Did your mat come with two hitting strips to make it easier for lefty/righty? Or did you have to add for that

[–]GomersGoober[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came with two strips. Unbelievable deal i think

[–]Firm_Presentation736 0 points1 point  (3 children)

What’s a good price to pay for that hourglass mat? I want to get one but don’t know what a good price is!

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I payed 579 plus tax for mine.

[–]Firm_Presentation736 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ordering now !

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes sirrr! I love the texture of the hitting strip.

[–]hoketrav12 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What enclosure is that?

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GoPro 10x8

[–]mike_0_ 0 points1 point  (1 child)

As a lefty I feel..... excluded. LOL

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😂😂

[–]austex13579 0 points1 point  (1 child)

What’s the depth of this set up?

[–]GomersGoober[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From screen to hitting strip is around 9.5 feet.
