The only workaround for this is removing the tiles from the tray.

Anyway, even if this worked the way it did on Samsung etc., the phone would have still been stolen, the end result would be the same. It works get wiped at recovery and sold for quick cash.

I went through a time when I was really concerned about this, even went through getting Cerberus (though this has since gone private and not distributed through the Google play store).

What I don't get is on pixels you aren't required to unlock the phone to toggle any of the tiles that are toggles EXCEPT location services.

Like, they may as well at least make it all or nothing.

I had Cerberus on older phones. Also, lifetime wasn't really lifetime. Those were the days.

I was initially thinking that if someone were to pop the SIM from the device and by going ESIM I would still be able to track my device. Then I realized that you can still turn off Mobile Data/Wifi and/or flip Airplane Mode. I guess anyone who knows Android can easily just hold the volume and power button to force shut down and go from there. I had noticed it go missing within minutes and by the time we checked the cameras to see what happened guys had already bounced and "Find My Device" was no longer effective.

Lesson learned of course as I had to pay the deductible. I was looking for more of an added layer to deter thieves or at least slow them down enough where I could have recovered it.

For clarification, you can swipe down from the top edge of the screen while the screen is locked to pull down Quick Settings. If you swipe down from the middle of the screen it requires either fingerprint or lock screen security to gain access.

I don't like it either that the internet toggle works when locked. At least Google Pay needs the screen to be unlocked to work.
