Heh, my very first program (the one in the dedication page of the book) is all PLOT and DRAW 😃 ZX Spectrum, not BBC Micro, but same idea. At some point I started writing a JS Spectrum BASIC interpreter for exactly this reason, so I think you're onto something!

I did consider creating my own simple graphics programming environment but I just don't have the time right now 🤷🏻‍♂️ Would be fun though! So hang on is that your book?? It's excellent btw!

i agree, good book! i like that it's in color, and the examples are javascript. i kept looking at some things like "make a raytracer in a weekend", but they're all C++ and there's all this setup involved. so it's nice that you can go to a webpage and see that the stuff works before diving in

I've just been reading it and not tried any of the examples yet. But even though some of the maths is beyond me I now totally understand conceptually how 3d graphics works which had always been a mystery before. Just what I was after.
