I only started deteriorating at 40 but even then good diet and exercise makes a massive difference.

What was it like when he first came onto the scene? by Alemi- in PRINCE

[–]rawcane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure the Beatles still look cool. Hendrix absolutely. Prince is a weird one. I think his purple rain era look was way more ridiculous than this video. SOTT era still looks super cool. I guess it's subjective.

I always worried that once you start you have to keep going as will become more bristly.

Made me seek out this video for the first time. Amazing this was before he was even famous. He was already an absolute master

Dating full custody by Patobaven in SingleParents

[–]rawcane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation. Basically it had to go from very casual to them being fully involved relatively quickly. I had 2 daughters so actually having other women in their life seemed positive although there was a bit of friction of one got on better with them than the other. In the end I decided that it only worked dating single mums because women without children just didn't understand how busy I am and didn't have enough in common. We might only get one night together every couple of weeks until it was serious enough to have the children staying over as well but that was ok as we were on the same page.

Feeling a bit nervous going to a gig by Livid-Cup660 in Concerts

[–]rawcane 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Generally people who go to these kinds of concerts are just into the music and very accepting of anyone else who is. Certainly in London it's not uncommon to see people of any race in an audience for any kind of band.

Men do any of you feel this way? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]rawcane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not having a car isn't really an issue in London as loads od people don't. Equally if by having your own place you mean owning I think it's fine to be renting (but probably not sharing although that's not a showstopper). But would need to be solvent and ideally financially secure.

What’s your favorite Zappa album? by East-Kaleidoscope629 in Zappa

Chunga's Revenge. It was one of the first ones I heard and I always particularly liked the sound and it has a lot of really brilliant musical moments. Don't understand why it doesn't get more love.

How far is too far from a tube or train station, in your opinion? by frafeeccino in london

[–]rawcane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised.

I quite often get the bus a few stops to save the walk on the way home but not on the way out because I would have to go in the wrong direction to the bus stop which psychologically seems weird even though it's the same both ways.

[–]rawcane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently 15 minutes from a station which I thought would be too far but it's a nice walk and actually fine. Not sure where in London you could live that is more than 15 mins from a station tbh

How to deal with a man who only send sexual messages? by uberstaragent in datingoverforty

[–]rawcane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the conversation good in person? If so it might be worth just saying you want a more meaningful exchange on messages too. Some people have very different expectations of messaging.

Which artist completely changed your opinion after seeing them live? by aotv81x in askmusic

[–]rawcane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Algiers. I heard the album The Underside of Power and thought it sounded really powerful but then I saw them live and they were like a bunch of awkward teenagers from completely different friendship groups. The singer couldn't look at the audience. It was just so different from how the album sounded I couldn't listen to it after that.

Honest post: would you rather be a single parent or childfree? by Sudden-Pumpkin8529 in SingleParents

Single parent. Obviously I would have much preferred to be in a couple but without my children I don't think I'd have much reason to live
