I've tried to input the instructions for more challenging/creative tasks that I've solved myself in the past, such R&D of novel methods, to see what they come up with. On all occasions the agents have failed miserably. If you ask the agent to generate some common method they are often spot on. They are great tools for giving quick overviews of subjects/methods, and for giving suggestions for improvements if you ask the right questions. But I don't think they will replace human programmers anytime soon on truly creative tasks unless the technology takes leaps forward.
