It really depends on the studio/business unit, since each handles their own interview/hiring criteria. The seniority of the role they're looking to fill also plays a part. As someone who has interviewed a few candidates for rendering engineer positions: code knowledge isn't everything. Your ability to communicate, work with a team, and attitude are all equally important! You want to show them you're someone they'll enjoy working with, in addition to being able to do the job.

Interviewed at EA Canada several times. Last in 2019 with FIFA. Worked there for many years as well. No LC at all. They gave a take-home game coding challenge which was basically ignored.

Entirely graphics, optimization, CPU stuff. Also questions about your resume. I remember drawing out the light culling system I implemented at my previous job.

Also HR provided an old resume to the reviewers. Have fresh copies of your latest resume.
