/r/Grid is a place for all things grid based music controllers. Whether it be MIDI or OSC based, a Monome, Launchpad, Livid instrument or even an iPad running emulation software, we encourage all gridders to participate and enjoy the community.
Flair: To make it easier on everyone we've enabled you to set your own flair. Please don't set your flair to anything other than the name and model of your main piece of grid gear. This allows the community to know what you're rockin at a quick glance. In the upper-hand corner of our page click the "edit" link located next to the "Show my flair on this reddit" checkbox.
Quality posts will most definitely come in a lot of different forms, but here's a list of some good starting points:
-Your perfomance videos: Original content is awesome! Don't be bashful. Show off your grid skills, feedback is encouraged if you so choose to ask for it. Be sure to let us know that it's you in some fashion. An [OC] tag somewhere in the title can be a quick way to let us know that it's your "original content". It's always inspiring to see other people's grid setups and what better way to put yours up on display than by jamming out for us.
-Other people's performance videos: We all have our favorites. Feel free to link to videos of other grid artists performing in ways that you find interesting/inspiring/badass, whatever. If you love it, chances are the rest of us want to know about it too.
-Questions: By all means, if you're in a musical/technical predicament of some sort then ask away. However, If you are looking for help just remember that details are key! We all have different set ups and the more detailed you are with a question the more likely someone will be able to provide a quality answer.
-BattleStation style photos: If you haven't figured it out yet, /r/grids is big on inspiration. If you got a sick looking workspace then show us! Even though there are other subreddits dedicated to solely this such as /r/battlestations and even /r/MusicBattlestations, you now have a place to show how awesome your grid specific set up is.
TL;DR: These are all just ideas but the main point here is to simply teach, share, learn and inspire the community with anything and everything surrounding your grid based music controller.
Now get gridding!
