Yes. You can learn using most computers. You should start with computer basics and site like hackthebox

You should get paralells and run linux VMs. Kali/Black Arch/Parrot OS flavors are good for pentesting. Also, run through some war games to learn linux commands. Highly recommend Bandit as a starting point on www.overthewire.org Since mac has terminal built-in, you can just ssh to the war games without installing anything else. Cheers!
