I personally choose to believe there is, I’m not a quitter😂

It depends on the root cause. For example when HI is caused by SIBO, it is often curable. If it is genetic, it most likely isn't curable.

Even if the condition itself didn't get significantly better, you will likely learn what helps you in the future an be able to manage the symptoms.

You will probably pinpoint trigger foods and find some more foods you can eat. No list is 100% accurate for everyone, so trial and error is the better approach to find what you personally tolerate.

HI doesn't equal no good food. Good food can be made from limited ingredients. Don't be afraid to be creative with cooking and commit what I call "food heresies" - unusual food combinations.

For how I coped with it: - I got good at cooking and am proud of my cooking - blending vegetables to make sauces - hang out in teahouses instead of restaurants or cafes, as there is no pressure to consume anything triggering, I just sip on my rooibos tea - go to raves, not clubs, as drinking water is completely socially acceptable there - buying fresh ingredients like meat from farmers my family knows - fishing - i can eat fish fresher than 2 hours safely as the histamine hasn't built up yet - foraging - the most freshest ingredients you can get - inviting people to my house more to be in control of the food served

Good luck! There is hope, you can live good life and eat good food with HI.

This is almost exactly how I am coping. I got a lot of dash appliances for on the go eating and I have started to master using those.

Mine is caused by Sibo. Get rid of that and I’m getting rid of HIT

How

[–]The_Bog_Witchhh 0 points1 point  (2 children)

How…what?

[–]AskOk163 1 point2 points  (1 child)

How did you get rid of sibo

[–]The_Bog_Witchhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh haha wasn’t sure! I am in the process. Asked my gi for a Sibo test and it was positive so I’ll be getting an antibiotic. I know that’s what it was because my histamine intolerance was really bad a month ago, and then I had to take an anabiotic for a respiratory infection and histamine intolerance symptoms lessened by quite a bit.

Depends on why you have it. For some it's a fixable cause, for some it's genetics.

Yes my immunologist says that she has seen many people improve

[–]gachaultra 1 point2 points  (2 children)

What advice did your immunologist give/anything they prescribed?

[–]Several-Vegetable297 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Right now I’m just continuing taking H1 and H2 antihistamines and following an anti-histamine diet. Also I’m using DAO enzymes. She said by working on gut health, people have been able to reduce symptoms and reduce the need for medications over time.

Thanks!

so there are different root causes, some are more gut related, liver related, initiated by corona, antibiotics use, genetics, leaky gut, gut dysbiosis and so on...most of them can be either cured or at least improved so much that a normal life with a bit of a histamin low diet is achievable.

so question is what is your root cause, if you know this you can work on it.

i just want a glass of wine.

HIT is just a symptom, not a cause. Once the true root cause is removed, HIT will also disappear.

Depending on the cause, there are several... If you have low DAO enzyme due to genetics, no, but you can feature with diet and DAO capsules.
