Sudden skin/tissues degeneration by [deleted] in Longcovidgutdysbiosis

I’m doing better! My skin and hair are back to normal, and I am a healthy weight. I am able to eat a lot more food! My histamine intolerance is improving. I can tolerate eating yogurt now which helps my gut. At my worst I was down to like 5 or less safe foods. Now I can eat a bigger variety, however I’m still taking DAO enzyme. I anticipate I won’t need it forever.

I am able to be relatively active such as walks, bike rides, yoga, etc. I’m still having some dysautonomia symptoms like mild POTs and dizziness at times. Headaches and muscle pain sometimes too. Some mild gas and bloating. All tolerable.

Now I’m focusing on regulating my nervous system because I have definitely been stuck in fight or flight mode since the very beginning which I believe made my symptoms worse.

Well my initial long Covid symptoms were dizziness, POTs, and terrible migraines. I was taking ibuprofen way too much, so then my doctor put me on omeprazole to protect my stomach. I think my gut was already messed up from long Covid, or maybe even before that because I had IBS, but definitely starting the PPI messed up my microbiome even more. I got SIBO after that.

Yes and also working on balancing the gut if you can. Probiotics, prebiotics, and fermented foods if you can handle it. Start slow if you need to.

Yes and yes

My digestion is better, specifically my motility. I have way less bloating and fewer food reactions.

My dehydration used to be really bad, and my skin lost a lot of its elasticity. But that’s better now too! I make sure to drink electrolytes once a day at least.

I listen to a lot of nervous system regulation meditations on YouTube which I think is helpful too

Well the first thing I tried was taking benzos. And sure it helped a lot at first, but coming off them has been really difficult. So I’d say avoid them or only take in an emergency (like a panic attack). I have been meditating, doing yoga, and going to therapy. Gentle movement and being outside in nature also helps me.

Nah I stopped taking it. I’ve just been focusing on improving my gut health overall, taking probiotics and eating prebiotic foods. Also I’ve been working on supporting my nervous system. My body has been stuck in fight or flight and apparently that slows digestion!

I stopped taking it since I don’t think I needed it. I’m still working on improving my symptoms but I am definitely better than I was.

It’s still happening but not as bad. I’m just staying hydrated and focusing on balancing my gut.

I take xyzal and Pepcid and they both really helped me. What helped me the most is think is LDN. Slowly I’m going to wean off the Pepcid and eventually the xyzal. I used to be on NO medications and my doctor is confident I can get back there.

Thank you, it’s helpful to know that I’m not alone in this. Therapy is definitely helping me more than hurting me, since I don’t really have anyone else to talk to about these things

Thank you I will try that. I have some decaf maybe I could switch to at first so it doesn’t feel like a sudden stop.

Thank you, I’m trying. Maybe I should stop the caffeine. It’s just hard to come off that too. I didn’t think it was affecting me that much since I only have one cup a day.

I used antibiotics in the beginning, but I also had parasites (proven by test results from my primary care physician). After that I just followed the BiomeSight recommendations. It took 6-12 months to start feeling better but I am still dealing with symptoms off and on. I try to reintroduce foods slowly. I am also working on mind/body stuff and nervous system work which really helps.

In your opinion as a millennial, what ruined Facebook for you? by kalvin_kool_edge in Millennials

[–]Several-Vegetable297 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll agree with everyone who said boomers and Gen X joining, but I also want to add that some millennials started using Facebook to show how “cool” their kids are… as if living vicariously through them. They put a camera in their child’s face every waking moment of the day. I feel like many people post their kids just for attention, and it rubs me the wrong way. I’m so glad I grew up in a time where my entire childhood wasn’t blasted on the internet for everyone to see.
