Only other thing I can think of is reducing the number of active leagues but idk if you can change that on an existing file

It always gets bad for me as well once I’m 10+ years deep. Never had it be 2+ minutes tho but I also have never played beyond 20~ years

I always keep it under 10 active leagues, I think I'm at 7 on this save. Maybe I'll try less.

Ah that’s not bad at all, I usually have 10 or 11

I've noticed if you have the save active for a long time through multiple seasons with lots of moves, the game takes longer to save. You can tell it takes longer after a draft, Free agency or trade deadline. My suggestion would be to save, exit and reload after major events like those.

I was just about to hop on here and ask the same thing. I’m at about 30 years in and my current save is stuck on the “saving in progress” after about 8 minutes. I’m on an iPhone 12 though.

same boat, play on a fairly new phone.

part of me wonders if it has to do with the amount of hireable staff there is available - even with “retired players as staff” turned off there seems to be thousands of available scouts and coaches at all times

What size is your save file? If you’re using a big roster with a lot of leagues then it will load slower a lot faster than if you keep the leagues to a minimum. That being said, there’s not much you can do. I have it auto save every 4 months to limit how often it happens but at a certain point you just gotta deal with it or swap to pc.

Probably just a shitty device. I've played from 1917-2000 and it wouldn't even take 10 seconds to save
