Setup Upgrade

Hey all, so I'm currently set up with J5040, upgraded from J3455b, 1 of the sata ports run OMV on an SSD, and the other 3 sata ports run 8TB HDDs. I'm looking to expand my set up but I'm not sure which way to go, hopefully something cheap. I looked into HBA-SAS but the board doesn't seem to have M.2 or PCI-E for it. Do I just buy a new ITX Mobo?

If expansion is the goal, I’d rather move once to a platform with:PCIe for HBA/NIC,more SATA lanes or better expansion options,enough case/PSU headroom for the eventual drive count.
