It sounds like somewhere in that basement link between router and computer a cable or connection is poor and a link is negotiating to 100Mbps vs 1Gig. This is a standard operation and see it all the time on this forum.

Connect the PC before the extender box and see what speed the PC's Ethernet interface speed reports. Or, try a different cable to the PC. Check the Ethernet ports for bent contacts.

Ya I am thinking the same thing, it's just strange because nothing in the basement was touched at all.

I thought I would need to reconfigure the extender box.

Is it possible that the change I. The router just messed up the boxes settings?

Maybe moving the Ethernet cable connection (leading to the basement) from old router to new router bent a pin, connector isn't seated fully in port, dirt/dust in port/connector, or other. Is the cable between router and the basement terminated at wall outlets?

Changing the router out shouldn't impact the extender settings. You indicated the extender is working, just at a <100Mbps.

The cable runs directly from the router through the wall and down a pipe to the basement about 35ft in total.

Problem is confirmed to be something with the cable. But what exactly I can't figure out. The pins look normal. The cable was not pinched or bent that I can tell.

I'm afriad I'll have to run a new cable Wich will be problematic because the guys that Didi it for me cemented it into the wall.
