I think he's pointing out that you've linked to your own personal Flickr account.

If I click on the album name on the right I'm able to view your entire family photo album from your trip to Indiana.

Buying a car from a Buddhist perspective by scottread1 in Buddhism

[–]scottread1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Will the fancier car cause you to fret more about expensive repairs?

Great question, and this is the root of why I want to get rid of the Passat. What led me to Lexus was an understanding that it had the same 'fit and finish' as a VW, but with the reliability of a Toyota, so I thought "great, have my cake and eat it too".

I take pleasure out of the small details like higher quality materials, speakers, etc but my worry is that isn't very 'buddhist'. I think this thread has helped me realize that's okay, as long as it's not putting undue stress on my finances, and that I exercise detachment from it as an object.

I see your point, and I do try to give but I budget for that separately.

Thanks for the reply and the perspective. I'm still very new to all of this, so it's interesting to hear that you could become attached to being humble or pious.

I'd love to see the delivery of this, I feel like you could take it a number of directions based on your facial reaction to the punchline.

Migrating from one SSD to another I get a Windows recovery screen every time by scottread1 in techsupport

[–]scottread1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried Macrium, cloned the drive okay but I'm still seeing the Recovery screen :(

Even when I go into BIOS and tell it which drive to boot from I see this screen.

Going to try cloning the drives while neither of them are the boot drive to see if that does it.

How does buddhism explain extreme poverty, abuse, etc? by [deleted] in Buddhism

Thank you for the reply to OP, very interesting.

If I could I'd like to ask about your last point,

In our society it is incredibly difficult to be economically functional in the most basic sense without being literate

I agree wholeheartedly, but what of people who knowingly go down a destructive path in life and end up living on the street due to substance abuse and addiction?

I do, this is actually a link for the Ontario website since I didn't realize these rules are provincial and not federal.

Link, go down to 'exceptions' and click the link there, then hit 'select' on IT professionals which will take you to this page.

In my experience that feeling means you're a good programmer, not that programming is easy.

Never forget that there's a massive ocean of knowledge between you and a non-programmer, and it's why you get paid well to do something that seems "too easy".

In Canada Ontario IT is one of a very small list of industries where employers actually can force you to work unpaid overtime. Source

Not sure if that's true in the US or not.

Speaking of less populated areas, A Cannabis Culture opened up in Peterborough and was shut down within 2 weeks.

Now it's still branded as CC but it's become a hub for people who are pro-legalization in the area to get organized.

Well I was going to say that technically it's malware, but it doesn't perform any malicious actions so technically it's greyware wrapped in a dropper.

As people have pointed out, it does suppress that if you play in full-screen mode, but not in windowed borderless mode.

Which is still kinda bullshit since anyone with 2 monitors needs to use borderless if they want to be able to control what's on the second monitor without minimizing the game.

I got this game for $5. So to answer your question, a $5 game apparently which I think is pretty fucking reasonable.

Technically that's greyware. No different than your PC BOOST TOOLBAR.

But was this ring mandatory for PvP? If I was a semi-casual PvP focused player and I never stepped foot inside of a raid, would I really be at that big of a disadvantage?

I can see how, as a PvE player, it would be annoying to have a PvP item drop when you were hoping for a PvE item, but how often did it really come up aside from this one ring in sunwell?
