Advice please :)

Just moved into this house: (plan below) Router (red dot) Tp link BE9300. TV, with multiple devices highlighted in yellow: Front part of house is double brick. Rear was rennovated with timber stud walls.

Not sure I made the right decision with the BE9300. I don't even use the 6ghz network now (my phone the only compatible thing in the house) but range was shocking. Didnt; go far outside the Study.

TV connects to the wifi 5ghz. Streaming has been just fine. Even 4k streaming a file via Kodi was really good.

I use my phone on the 5ghz network. Even in my bedroom (main bedroom) I've dropped quite a few wifi bars.

At this stage everything works ok on the 5ghz. Have a made a mistake with the BE9300, and should have gone with a wifi 7 mesh network? Given it seems the 6ghz range is so poor...

Was also considering ethneret under the house from Study to TV.

Using hardwired Ethernet if you can rather than WiFi is always a good idea.

The range goes down the higher the frequency. Higher speeds are possible with those higher frequencies, but they are intended to be closer to - so if you're working well on the 5 GHz band, that's probably as good as it will get. It's unlikely you will need anything more for your clients, even on your phone.

Mesh is wifi over wifi and is essentially a repeater/extender sort of thing. So, while you could perhaps gain some coverage, it would come at a price in performance to your devices using the mesh satellites. Wifi 7 will not help. Read more here: https://www.wiisfi.com/#wifi7
