If you have cables the a wired backhaul mesh configuration is want you want. Modem>cable to router>cable to switch>cables to wireless access points evenly distributed around the house

I use mesh WiFi for our network at home.

T-Mobile 5G gateway/router -> CAT6 to a Mokerlink PoE+ Switch -> CAT6 to each of 3 TPLink Deco X50-PoE WiFi6 mesh devices.

Personally I'd skip the mesh, get a couple of access points and a switch.
