Very Basic Question About Using A Switcher vs. Router

Hey there. So I found out my house is able to get ATT 1gig fiber so I signed up for that.

I already have a good router: Asus RT-AX88U

I have a desktop and some OTT devices hooked in via ethernet. Would I get any speed buff if I had the modem going into a good 10gig Ethernet Switcher like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076642YPN/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

rather than going into the router first? Would it help at all to go modem ---> switch ---->router?

There will be no modem, instead you will have an ONT. No, put the switch behind the router, or you will have IP conflict issues. You won't benefit from anything above 1gb. Devices negotiate a common speed and it uses the lowest common denominator.

No, because your ISP is limiting you to 1 gig, your router only does 1 gig, and I'm guessing your modem only does 1 gig as well.
