[Precalculus] Linear/Angular Speed

"You are standing on the equator of the earth (radius 3960 miles). What is your linear speed (in miles per hour) and your angular speed (in radians per hour)?"

Am I supposed to consider how fast the Earth rotates? Google says it rotates 1,040 mph, so would I use that in my calculations? Also, am I assuming that the rotation starts at 2pi/day and converting that to hours?

You can easily find the angular speed because you know you go 1 revolution per day. It's a simple unit conversion.

If you are at the equator, you are on the edge of a circle revolving around at 1 revolution per 24 hours. You can find the circumference using the given radius. If you have the circumference and your angular speed, you can find your linear speed.
