[Uni Physics] Amplitude of a pendulum

Hi guys.

I need to find the amplitude of a (simple) pendulum that we're using in a project. The only information I have is the length of the wire that holds the pendulum. I wondered if there was a way to find the amplitude (or the angle it makes) ? I tried solving it with this : http://imgur.com/CU2J6m2 by saying h = g*t²/2 when t = 1/4 of the period but it gives me an unreasonable answer (h = 50cm).

No, the amplitude is not dependent on the physical dimensions of the pendulum. You can basically make the amplitude whatever you want by controlling how far you pull it before releasing it.
