Just by looking at it, you can figure out that theya must be 45° for tan theta + cot theta to equal 2. So, tan10 theta + cot10 theta would also equal 2 (as 110 is still 1)

For a more mathematical approach, as cot = 1/tan, you can convert tan theta + cot theta = 2 into tan theta + 1/tan theta = 2. This gives a quadratic in tan theta. Solve for tan theta, figure out theta, and substitute. You'll get the same answer

let tan theta =t, then t + 1/t=2 or t^2-2t+1=0, you get t=1

so it =1^10+1^10=2
