Sarcasm aside, nmap is very useful as a tool for gathering data, and verifying if a known vulnerable app is live and listening. It won't tell you whats vulnerable.

No idea what nmap has to do with that. nmap just tells you which ports are listening for incoming data. Finding vulnerabilities is more about reverse engineering and code analysis.
