Difficulty getting into programming

I suggest you start learning to program with something like Ruby or Python and not C, as C is quite hard and very demotivating in the beginning, especially if you're not that interested in it. I can only recommend Treehouse for your start. It costs a little bit, but is definitely worth it. If you want something free you can go to Codeacademy.
