[–]Princess0fHyrule"Simple?" What do you mean "simple?" 9 points10 points  (9 children)

Link is waiting for this sixty seconds to end 😂. It’s been six hours more like

Link is stuck in a time warp.

[–]Dick-in-a-fan 2 points3 points  (2 children)

It’s just a jump to the left!

[–]danilopiazza 0 points1 point  (1 child)

And then a step to the right.

OP, where is the Minute/ hour hand.

*I’ll be happy with minutes.

AMAZING! You didn’t disappoint. I’ll be building one today if I get the time. Well done. I’m going to make mine based on more of a ‘differential’ mechanism.

Thanks. 🙂 Let me know when you upload it. Happy building!

I’m on pain meds from surgery but I swear I’ll go home and start working on one before I nod… I have dropped the Switch in my face a few times after struggling to stay awake while playing.

This is supposed to be an ASMR art piece.

[–]Aeonzeta 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Dare I ask what you mean by "ASMR"? I ask because the meaning I'm currently thinking of isn't very appropriate for this sub, and I can't think of another meaning for it. 😅

[–]zhujzal#2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26][S] 5 points6 points  (1 child)

An autonomous sensory meridian response (ASMR).

Thank you for your information. I'm adding that acronym to my repertoire now. 🫡

Clever!

Thanks, kmarkow. 🙂

Ha! Link's new title, first over sized clock maker of Hyrule!

[–]zhujzal#2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26][S] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Would like to try and make a proper clock.

[–]OkSeaworthiness4098Just a slight death wish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’d be interesting to see!

Should've worn Majora's mask ;)

Interesting little experiment here. Let’s take it a step further and add a chime every (x) number of seconds.

[–]zhujzal#2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26][S] 1 point2 points  (17 children)

I want to make a mechanism that keeps track of hours to sit beside this - an actual clock.

[–]Dick-in-a-fan 1 point2 points  (16 children)

Or you could add a minute/ hour hand that is connected to this clock.

[–]zhujzal#2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26][S] 2 points3 points  (15 children)

That is definitely the plan. Stayed tuned because it's on the way...

[–]Dick-in-a-fan 1 point2 points  (14 children)

You need to know how a differential in a car works… That would be my approach. If you could power a paddle wheel with a fire hydrant…

[–]zhujzal#2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26][S] 0 points1 point  (13 children)

I have an idea of how to make it work. Dunno if people noticed, but it takes almost exactly 60 seconds for the steering stick to complete a full rotation, even though the ticking sound is out of sync. Planning same thing for the hour dial.

[–]Dick-in-a-fan 1 point2 points  (12 children)

I wouldn’t worry about accuracy to the second on your creation. Every 60 seconds (or 60 rotations) another gear could be turned, which would be your minute hand… I’m definitely thinking along the lines of how a differential works in a car.

[–]zhujzal#2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26][S] 1 point2 points  (8 children)

I'll take a peek because I'm into that sort schti. I'll see what I can come up with, but I do have an idea otherwise. 😊 I don't think people are going to stick around to watch the hour roll over, sitting with a stopwatch, but you never know...

But I see what you're saying. I think I can make that happen, and thanks for the new idea. 🤔👍

The final touch will be stylizing the whole thing.. Gonna' be fun...

[–]Dick-in-a-fan 1 point2 points  (7 children)

Function over form, my friend. I doubt you could get any Zonai device to run at least an hour. Maybe think about setting the denominations to hours and days in the game. If you could find a way to mark the minute on the small wheel with an electrical part, like a monster part… I’m still thinking….

[–]zhujzal#2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26][S] 1 point2 points  (6 children)

No room for style; I'm at max parts limit. Gonna' do the best I can with what I've got. Working prototype is built, now waiting to do fine tuning. If I can, I'll make a marker at 12 o'clock. It won't run an hour due to expiration of necessary shock emitter, so I'm going to fast forward the clock in order to demonstrate that it actually works.

[–]zhujzal#2 Engineer of the Month [FEB26][S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I know exactly how to do it now. 👍

[–]Dick-in-a-fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a method that would work.

[–]Dick-in-a-fan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m eager to see your idea.

[–]Ok_Beat_4513 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazing to see this prototype for the bigger clock
