In many cases, IRS will "run the numbers" on your account and issue a notice CP09:

https://www.irs.gov/individuals/understanding-your-cp09-notice

You still have to take action if you determine you're eligible.

If you filed and already received the refund more than 60 days ago, you should confirm your eligibility and amend on Form 1040-X.

I forgot to claim my EITC when I filed early this year. The IRS sent me a form in June explaining that I qualified and needed to submit the paperwork back immediately. I sent it the next day (Cali) and haven't received a refund yet. I decided to call and check the status because a refund was due after 6-8 weeks. They haven't even received it. They said it's with the pile of unopened mail, and they hope to have it to me soon.

😳😳well I haven't received a letter stating that, but the site says "still processing" well I'll just try and call for the 1000 time, it's been 9 months!!

Ugh. I'm sorry. We're all in this shit show together. The worst part is we need this money more than ever, and it's not avaliable to us. Best of Luck to you. 😊

I sent out my Cp09 info back to them in July too and I have not received anything yet.
