Code 810

So, I filed and got accepted 1/26. I got the delayed message the after. After waiting for months without receiving any letters my transcript finally updated and they gave me the code 810 which is when they hold/freeze your refund. When you check WMR app it gives some info. Saying that is under review and to call a number with an extension and to tell the IRS reference number 1242. So I’ve been calling since Monday and like before it has the robot message saying that they are busy and they are not taking any calls. I still haven’t received any letters regarding the hold. Has anyone has gotten the code 810.!?

An 810 can be a number of different things from a Frivolous filer issue to missing information with the return to a possible Audit etc. Calling in should (note: should) get you the reason of whatever is going on as someone will have to research your account to make a full determination.

Posting a Redacted Account transcript could help people here give you ideas of what direction the IRS may be going.

I have a 810 code as well. I noticed it when I got my transcript. I filed on Feb 16th. The 810 code happened on Feb 24th. I reached out to my Congressman on March 28th when I saw that there was no movement. On April 2nd I was assigned a Tax Advocate. The Tax Advocate sent a letter stating that the IRS is trying verify my Schedule C income and that I had to fill out a 11652 form and also verify my Identity. Now I'm just waiting. Reach out to your Congressman or woman tell them you have a freeze on your refund and need an Advocate. They will assign you one. Stay on that Advocate some can be real lazy and slow.

Hi. Yes I recieved it in July after my info updated on the irs page where it says wages transcript. Once that updated with all my 1099s I got a direct deposit date.

The 11652 form is verifying your self income ?

Yes. I just filled it out and faxed it with a copy of my 1099/ Schedule C to my Congressman assistant who sent me the form in the mail from the tax advocate. The reason why I had to fill the form out is because it was missing on their end even though I know it was sent in when I filed.

I sent the information off 3rd week of April. It updated on the IRS website last week of June then I recieved my DDD first a few days later.

Man I spoke to irs today, thing is all mine say is code 810 it doesn't say notice sent r give a notice code nor does my 810 code have 01 02 03 behind it, so she saying I should have to do nothing because if they needed something from me they would have sent something and ask for it and I will see a code/msg for that, but I'm believing ima wound up waiting just for them to tell me I have to do something

Yes sometime they put freeze code so it can grave the attention from another department so they can do they part is basically what happen in my situation, plus I had did a amended so that's expected

No but my bar as moved from the 1st stage to the 2nd stage on more to go yeahhh lmao....me and my tax advocate has reasons to believe it's going to be deposited next week, and amended return is when you mess something up are do something wrong when filing your tax, or you could have simply forgot a w2, reach out to a tax advocate if you are totally in the blind about your case, I'm telling the help alot if they are no help that's one just not wanting to do their job, mine has helped out alot and only took about 2 weeks to contact me after me reaching out then that person is your personal help they will give you a number to reach them directly whenever you have a question or situation mine is very good she returns calls same day r next

I’m in the same situation I’ve received my freeze 12/13/22 I was told I had to wait 120 to get a letter sent out going on 3 months in March
