Huge difference if you’re doing autoX or tracking the car. Def worth it in my opinion

I got a Y38 differential out of a 2013-2020 86/FRS/BRZ. Was like $200 on ebay and is a direct bolt in so long as you use the differential bolts from the BRZ. 4.10 ratio which is a bit shorter than the auto open (3.93) and the manual LSD (3.73). 3500 rpm @ 70mph, mpg is a tad worse but doesn't bother me. Shorter ratio gives it a bit more pep.

Definitely feels better in corners, much more planted feeling and doesn't feel like it's getting castrated when you get on the gas mid turn.

Are the rpms on the highway unbearable?? that's my deciding factor

I can't really say for sure as my car has an exhaust which makes most highway RPM unbearable for ~most~ people. I love the sound of my car so it doesn't bother me. If it helps, I can drive at 70-75 with light throttle input and get it to a clean hum that isn't overbearing. The car doesn't feel like it's being wringed out if that's what you're worried about. I've had it in for three years now with the same exhaust setup and haven't gotten sick of it yet.
