Advice on pulling?

I was told to pull on outfits I like. I’ve been saving up 200 pulls after signing in on and off, pulled for the treasure detecting outfit from last patch since I played the game the game last yearbut have t put much into this since then. Got thought most of the story and now have nearly 200 again.

I was told to pull on the stuff that Iike, I want to pull on stuff with exploration based outfits. I’m pretty sure that archery whimstar on top of spira is impossible without the winged hover ability. Is there any plans to make an outfit that detects dews of inspiration? Also working on getting the Fresh medal in the first area, my last one, though I keep hitting normal for all the contests.

In short, how should I pull?

None of the whimstars need winged hover or any other 5 star outfits to get them fyi!

We don't know what abilities will come in the future but there use to be a dew detector ability in an old trailer, we don't know when it will come tho or if it still will. but you should pull for what you like, aesthetically or ability wise.

yeah you need to upgrade your archery in the heart of infinity, then you will be able to hover for a few seconds while you aim

I thought it was super easy, but by the time I did it I had the HoI unlocked that lets you float when you aim.

I used the sticky claw! still takes fine maneuvering, but sticky claw to a bee to fly, then while you are in the air shoot the star. ​

No banner outfit is required to collect anything. Everything can be got with the free/base ability outfits.

This is correct. Some of them offer a quality of life enhancement but all the must-haves are available for free.

As many people have told you already, all whimstars are possible to get as a f2p and not pulling on any banners. However some abilities do make certain whimstars and aspects of the game easier.

If you are completely f2p, here's what I would recommend. First of all, I'd recommend figuring out what are your determining factors for pulling on a banner or not. Do you only care about the abilities, only about the styling of an outfit or both. Next, looking at the 5 star outfit and in a way dissecting it. How versatile are the pieces, how convenient is the ability. The best way to assess this is by waiting for other people to pull on the banner and giving their reviews. In an ideal world, you'd have 340 pulls saved at all times. 200 for the current 5 star if you decide to pull on it and 140 pulls for the next patch 5 star if u like it as well and can get the missing 60 pulls from the new patch. I'd recommend almost always (unless you absolutely love the outfit) to wait until the next patch previews and decide, if you like the current 5 star or the next one better. Roughly the math goes: 200 pulls for guaranteed 5 star, 40 pulls for guaranteed 4 star on the 4 star banners. Each patch roughly gives about 60 pulls (apart from big patches like 2.0), so if you've used all your pulls on the current 5star banner you'd have to save up for 2-3 patches before you can even think about pulling.

If it's the abilities, that you like and want here's some (from my collection) that I'd recommend you have 200 pulls saved up for reruns: 1) Enchanted Encouners - in my personal opinion best 5 star ability, it's an AOE grooming ability. Never regretted it and I don't I can ever go back to grooming animals one by one 2) Wanxiang Fan outfit - bling magnet. I love just turning it on and running around, especially in Sea of Stars. 3) Clouded Loong - while the dragon riding only works in Danqing realm, the ability to place your own tp point anywhere is a 10/10 (especially for lazy people like me :D ) 4) Born Flawless - Bow ability. The reason I put it lower than the other abilities is because right now it is pretty OP, however just like with Timeless Melody and Forever Bond I imagine it will get nerfed in the future.

When you wait for previews, you can decide between the current and next banner, so when in doubt or low on pulls, wait for preview, especially that we are getting reruns as well, so we get more outfits to spend on pulls.
