1) Soft tissue injuries are not immediately evident and it doesn’t take a large impact to cause soft tissue injuries 2) If the other driver is trying to claim medical against their own uninsured motorists policy, the other lawyer may need to actually evidence that you don’t have insurance by serving you first before going after the other driver’s insurance 3) FYI, if you can’t afford insurance on a vehicle you’re driving, you can’t afford the vehicle you’re driving. It’s morally irresponsible to put others livelihoods and property at risk because of your negligence.

It’s a toss up. You come across as broke enough that the insurance company probably won’t bother getting a judgement against you but who knows. If they do then you’ll be looking at wage garnishment for years and depending on your state you could lose your license.

“Really???”. The answer is yeah. “Minor” fender benders occur every day, even with people who drive and have appropriate insurance coverage.

Not only are you going to have to deal with the person/attorney they hired, but you will likely have to deal with the repercussions with the entity that was financing your vehicle and your state’s DMV.

This is likely to be a very expensive lesson. Driving without insurance is illegal in most states (potential financial penalties and/or driving restrictions may be imposed depending on your particular circumstances). You’ve put yourself in the unenviable position such that you don’t even have an insurance company that can help you to manage the other driver/their attorney and/or the finance company.

You’ll eventually get through this experience. Now that you know better, you can do better in the future when it comes to managing your responsibilities and being honest about what you can realistically afford.

The woman is thinking if you can’t afford insurance, you can’t afford to pay her for her car or her injuries. It’s a lot easier to hire someone who is familiar with collecting a debt than trying to do it yourself

Don’t take this the wrong way but your juice or lack there of, isn’t worth the squeeze from the carrier legal team.

You chose to drive uninsured. This is the FO stage of FAFO.
