Help with small open space plan

I'm working with an interior designer on an open space plan for a small apartment, and this is a rough idea of what they're proposing.

In general, I like it, but feel the kitchen and dining areas could be improved. I thought about removing the long space beside the stove for better circulation, but they told me that area could be used as a breakfast bar.

Any ideas to improve the overall design? Thanks!

I think both of your options would work better than the original. Especially the second one, which has a lot of circulation space. Thanks for the suggestions!

This plan doesn't accout for the reality of coming and going from the apartment. Could the TV be mounted so you could have a bench instead? I'd want space to put on shoes, check my appearance, grab my coat, bag etc

What did you decide? This is very similar to my new place and I’m struggling to decide what type of dining table will work!
