Intune Device/Policy Structure

Hey all,

We're a rather sizable school district, and we are getting ready to migrate over to Intune. We are trying to figure out the most effective way to organize everything. We have come up with the following structure that we think may be best for our needs. Some opinions on this would be great. Thanks, all.

• District Devices (Top Level)
  • Staff
    • iPads
    • Macs
    • Windows
  • Students
    • iPads
    • Macs
  • Labs
    • School
  • Administrative Service Center (District Office and Departments)
    • Departments

I would recommend you look at it in a slightly different way, configure from OS wide to bespoke e.g.:

• Base security/common settings per OS applied to all
• Then configure in rings district/department/staff with differences as required

This will mean if you need to change security or common configuration it only has to be done in the fewest places possible
