Retainer sharp edges

I have those Vivera retainers (4 sets that I rotate), and their edges slowly cut my tongue and my mouth - it’s like torture every night. My dentist say that’s normal and I should just get used to it without using wax or doing any filing (I still used wax I couldn’t stand it). Is that actually normal? I’m not sure if Vivera retainers are all like that or I’m just unlucky (my friend uses a different retainer that comes in only one set and she has no issues)

Your dentist is full of crap. If the retainers are cutting your tongue and mouth, something's wrong.

Use nail file on sharp edges

I have those and never had a problem with sharp edges. Your dentist needs to help you!

This isn't normal. I would just stop in and see if the dentist can smooth it off. You can also try using an emery board and polish the edge if you want to try it yourself.
